Description

This course will cover a number of advanced subjects in medical imaging:

  • Image Registration
  • Biophotonics
  • Molecular Imaging - high field MRI.

Various methods for each of these topics will be treated and applications will be shown to demonstrate the performance and the (dis)advantages of each method. Lectures will be alternated with practical sessions, to help you understand the theory.

Course aims Upon completion of the course the student:
  1. knows the principles of the image acquisition of processing techniques presented
  2. knows the clinical relevance of the methods
  3. can choose proper methods to solve a clinical problem
  4. understands the problems and pitfalls of the methods and can recognize them in practice

Examination Written examination. The exam is 'open book', which means you are allowed to bring all course material to the exam.
