To enter the BIS master's programme, a bachelor's degree (BSc) in an exact or biomedical science, or an equivalent degree, is required. Applications from outside Utrecht University or from students in faculties other than exact or biomedical sciences will always be evaluated by the admissions committee on an individual basis. If you would like to know whether you have sufficient theoretical background to follow this master's programme, please e-mail us at bis@isi.uu.nl, so that we can evaluate your education so far and decide whether you need to be brought up-to-date during or before the start of the programme.

The BIS master's programme starts each year in September. Students are encouraged to send in their applications before mid April. Applications of Dutch students will be handled by the faculty of 'Biomedische Wetenschappen'. Foreign students can send their application to the Admissions Office of Utrecht University. More information about registration can be found at either www.uu.nl (Dutch) or www.internationalmasters.uu.nl (English).
The programme offers the option to start in February as well. For many students, however, this is not a suitable option, because of the set-up of the course programme. Courses in the second half of the academic year build on knowledge from courses in the first half. If you do consider starting in February, please contact us to discuss whether it is feasible for you.
Once you have registered for the BIS master's programme, please send an e-mail to bis@isi.uu.nl. The administrative processing of applications can take a while and we would like to know sooner whom we can expect.

General information on accommodation, language courses, the practical aspects of living in Utrecht, etc., can be found at: www.uu.nl/practicalinformation.
For more general information about all master's programmes at Utrecht University, the admission procedures, visa, financial assistance, grants, etc., check out: www.internationalmasters.uu.nl.

Application after the official deadline is usually possible. Please contact us (bis@isi.uu.nl) if you would like to apply for BIS after mid April.
